Background: Uterus is bicornate in animals. Unicornate uterus was reported in some animals, But
there is not any available reports about unicornates uterus in water buffalo.
Methods: In uterus which had only one horn was
found in Ahvaz slaughter house and were dissected in anatomy and embryology lab.
Result: Regarding to the utereline band (taenid
uterina) on the dorsal suface of utereline horn and
alsence of yellow color of yellow body of uterus.
The structure was recognized as uterus of water
buffalo.
Conclusion: Based on available dacuments, It
seems it is the first report of unicornate utereus in
water buffalo.
