چکیده :

This study was designed to investigate the effect of salinity and substrate type on growth and nutrient uptake in tomato plants. Factorial experiment in a completely randomized design with three replications. Treatments consisted of four salinity levels of 0, 20, 40 and 60 mM and three types of media (perlite, perlite + vermiculite (1:1 V: V) and perlite +peat moss(1:1 V:V)). Were determined the physicochemical properties of substrates and uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and calcium in plant tissues. Compare the results showed that with increasing salinity up to 40 mM reduced the treatment there was significant. Effect of Salinity on the Uptake by Plants, Medium effect was significant for all treatment. Results showed that the substrates in terms of bulk density, porosity, EC and pH were both significant at 1% level. High levels of sodium, potassium uptake by plants decreases, but the calcium was somewhat ineffective. The highest uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium was obtained in the treatment of perlite + peat moss medium and salinity levels of 20 mM.
