چکیده :

The present study aims to examine the relationship between Time Management and high school students’ educational success. The research method is of a descriptive, correlational and comparative one. The research statistical population is composed of all the Shiraz high school students during 2012 and 2013. The research statistical sample consists of a total of 610 students who are selected using cluster sampling and are also asked to complete Time Management questionnaire. Also, students’ total GPA is considered as the index of educational success. By using Item Analysis and calculating value of Cronbach’s Alpha, validity and reliability of the questionnaire is examined, respectively. In order to analyze the research data, the use is made of statistical descriptive methods such as mean and Standard Deviation (SD) and inferential methods like Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient, Regression, and T-test. According to the research results, there is a meaningful relationship between Time Management, its four aspects and the students’ educational success. In addition, with regard to Time Management and educational success, there is a meaningful difference between students at high school for gifted students, state model and ordinary high schools. Regarding four aspects of Time Management, there is a meaningful difference between students at high school for gifted students, state model and ordinary high schools in three aspects of Target-setting, Time Planning, and Commitment to Implementation of programs and goals. But, no meaningful difference is reported between the schools with regard to Prioritization of goals aspect. Students’ gender does not affect their Time Management. That is, there is not a meaningful difference between male and female students in Time Management. Meanwhile, the gender variable makes a meaningful difference between male and female students in educational success. Concerning four Time Management aspects, although no meaningful difference is reported between male and female students in three Target-setting, Prioritization of goals and Planning aspects, the difference between the male and female students in Commitment to Implementation of programs is meaningful.
