The effect of planting date and plant density on yield of the Safflower physiological parameters of Goldasht strain in Robat Karim region

- In order to evaluate the effect of spring planting dates and plant density on yield and yield components, and seed quality characteristics of safflower of Goldasht variety was conducted in the crop year of 2012 on a trial basis at a private farm in the city of Salehiyeh. This experiment was performed with factorial statistical design based on randomized complete block with four replications.Planting dates were the dates: 23 December 2012, 10 May 2012 and 11 May 2012 and plant densitiesthat were set through row distances were 80, 50, 36 and 26 plants per square meter. The results showed that the dry matter accumulation in different organs in the process of rapid growth, the stem is as the only plant storage organ, and after the onset of reproductive growth the reserves materials of the organs are removed.At this stage, because safflower had unlimited growth, always, there is a competition between the reproductive organs and side branches. Increase in density led to increase in DRM, LAI and CGR. But due to the leaves shading, the NAR level decreased.Seed coat, proteins, oils, in the third planting date decreased slightly, but the percentage of seed coat increased. The high negative correlation was observed between oil percentage and coating percentage.
