To draw the security horizon of the West Asian region - after the 2011 Arab revolutions - it is necessary to examine its components, variables and important elements, including political Islam. On this basis, political Islam has been one of the most influential currents and discourses in the recent developments in the region. In this context, the behavior of Islamist can be examined in three main areas: First, extremism and violence with the emergence of emerging takfiri currents such as ISIS. Second, the inability to maintain power and sovereignty by the original and entrenched currents of political Islam, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, and third, the change in the activism of the Resistance Front. This is at a time when the West Asian region is experiencing a period of tension and turmoil with war, violence and religious and ethnic differences. Accordingly, the main question of the article is what is the place of political Islam in the development of the security order in the West Asian region? The future of research will shape the subject of this article by examining the trends and scenarios of political Islam and Islamist currents and their role in shaping the security order in the West Asian region.
