The symbolic function of the Prophet's characters (PBUH) in Ahmad Azizi`s Iliaee Songs

Ahmad Azizi is one of famous ritual poets born in Kermanshah, Iran. With rich creativity and comprehensive knowledge and capability, he had accurate and complete information on the various religious and Quranic sciences, mythology, history, romance, and symbolism. Azizi has used the symbolic function of prophet`s characters in his poetry and enriched the meaning and concept of his poetry by such character. Applying descriptive-analytical method, this article aims to determine the conceptual implications of these symbolic characters. It also shows that the poet aimed at applying symbolic aspects of prophet`s characters in his poetry to create brevity and beauty.
