ABSTRACT: The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between intentional organizational forgetting and high school managers’ organizational intelligence of district 2, Zahedan. The research method was descriptive-correlational. The population included all high school managers of district 2, Zahedan, in the academic year 2013-2014 (N=61). Since census method was used for sampling, the total statistical population, N=61, were studied. Research tools werethe14-item Organizational Forgetting Questionnaire, derived from Mahmoudvand’s (2011) thesis, and Organizational Intelligence Inventory with 49 items. Content validity of both questionnaires was checked. The reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient which was 89% and 96%, respectively. Data analysis was performed through applying one-sample t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression. Results indicated that all managers under study in district 2, Zahedan, were above the average in terms of intentional organizational forgetting and its components. It was also revealed that all managers were above the average in terms of organizational intelligence and its components. Results of Pearson correlation coefficient test indicated that there was a significant relationship between organizational forgetting and its components and organizational intelligence and its components except for the component of morale. No relationship was found among unlearning, a component of organizational forgetting, and knowledge and pressure of performance, components of organizational intelligence. Moreover, results of stepwise regression analysis indicated that among the components of organizational forgetting, the component of avoiding bad habits could mostly predict the degree of organizational intelligence.
