Abstract Sometimes, quality of a process or product is described by a profile which is a relationship between one or more response variables and one or more explanatory variables instead of describing by one or more qualitaty characteristics and monitoring respectively by univariate and or multivariate control charts. In some cases, response variables are correlated and can be described by multivariate regression profiles. In this situation, ignoring the correlation between response variables and monitoring the profiles individually leads to misleading results. In some situations, due to time collapse between two sampling, the response variables become autocorrelated and this leads to negative effect on regression parameters estimation as well control charts performance. In this paper, an autocorrelated multivariate simple linear profile is considered and it is assumed that the auto-correlation in this profile is modeled by AR (1) and MA(1) models. Then, two control charts for monitoring the multivariate simple linear profiles are proposed. Performance of the proposed control charts are compared in Phase I through simulation runs in terms of probability of signal.
