In this research, the effect of electrical field on separation process of water and salt in crude oil (emulsion) in a
desalination plant of southern oil rich regions has been assessed through a field experiment. The impact of temperature and voltage on the output of separation process of water and salt in crude oil in electrical desalinators
was also studied. As regards fluid properties and processing conditions, in order to increase the output and in line
with controlling the quality of crude oil exiting the desalination plant, optimal temperature and voltage factors
were introduced.
