Candida albicans is the most commonly isolated species and can cause infections in humans and other animals. The incidence of vulvovaginal candidiasis, a common infection among healthy women primarily caused by the yeast Candida albicans, has increased significantly in recent years . Biofilm is an assemblage of the microbial cells that is irreversibly associated with a surface and usually enclosed in a matrix of polysaccharide material . The agglutinin-like sequence (als) gene family is the largest family among known adhesions in C. albicans. It is known that ALS family members interact with several substrates, including host cells and proteins. The finding that expression of ALS1 and other family members increases during biofilm development in vitro suggested that the ALS family plays a role in biofilm formation. Hyphal wall protein 1 (HWP1), another adhesion gene, is also up regulated during biofilm developmen. Antigenic molecules, normally being "large" biological polymers, usually present several surface features that can act as points of interaction for specific antibodies. The elucidation of protein antigenic structures is presently a difficult, uncertain, and time-consuming task. Physico-chemical profile is a computer program for predicting the locations of protein antigenic determinants. This computerized method requires only the amino acid sequence of a protein, and no other information. The method is suitable for use in smaller personal computers, and is written in the basic language. Predicting antigenic determinants of foreign proteins from their amino acid sequence and/or conformation is of growing importance in the production of synthetic vaccines and antigens . In the presence study the aim was to explore the antigenic sites on ALS1 and HWP1 protein sequences in C. albicans isolated vaginal infection were identified by Physico-chemical profile program.
