In this paper, an efficient numerical approach for solving ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is proposed. In the proposed method, after governing ODEs as an optimization problem, meta-heuristics algorithms are utilized for solving the reformed problems. Orthogonal Legendre polynomials are employed for achieving the considered objectives. The coefficients of the Legendre based objective are approximated by a new effective and renowned meta-heuristics algorithm, world Cup Optimization algorithm and its results are compared with Genetic Algorithm as a popular and efficient method. Numerical results show the proposed method’s good performance for approximating the ODEs.
