چکیده :

The ovaries in the mammals are amphicrine glands and have exocrine as well as endocrine secretions. The cortex of ovary has follicules which are either in resting state (primordial follicles) or in growth phases.The growing follicles may be in health or atretic states. All types of follicules are amenable to the internal and external factors which are bring or make them sensitive to inter the process of atresia and death. Aflatoxins are hydrocyclic (difuranocoumarin) compounds which are highly oxygenated. Four main types of aflatoxin are AFB1, AFB2, AFG1 and AFG2. The AFB1 is highly available and also its toxicity is also very high. Contamination of food stuffs to AFB1 is a global problem. These compound along with signs of aflatoxicosis, bring follicular atresia in follicles of ovaries For this investigation 28 female adult rats were selected. These rats were apparently healthy and devoid of any anomalies. These animals were divided into four group namely, control, test group1, test group2, test group3, and each group holding 7rats. Each rats in test group1, 2 and 3, received 0.8 ppm ,1.6ppm , 3.2ppm AFB1 respectively through gavage for duration of 25 days. The Control group received distilled water only. At the end of this period, all the rats were euthanized and their blood collected for hormonal assay. Our hormonal assay revealed that; concentration of FSH in all the test groups (1, 2 & 3 ) in comparison to control group decreases progressively according to the doses of AFB1 and this differences were significant(p<0.05). In the case of estradiole the decrement was significant between group 3(which treated with 3.2 ppm AFB1) and control group. The levels of LH, similar to that of FSH were decreased significantly (P<0.05) by increase in amount of AFB1 consumption. Same as in case of stradiole, the concretion of progestrone was significantly (P<0.05) decreased in group 3 compared to the control group. The levels of prolactin were decreased significantly (P<0.05) according to increase in doses of AFB1 and highest reduction was seen in group 3(with 3.2 ppm/day) in comparison to the control group In conclusion: )The levels of hypophyseal hormones, including FSH, LH, Prolactin and TSH decreases based on increase in doses of AFB1 accordingly , and the levels of estradiole, Progesterone are decrease
