چکیده :

The present study aimed to assess the level of academic achievement in relation to learning through modeling and the level of interaction and interest between teacher and students in junior high schools of Iranshahr. According to research studies and regarding the broad and inclusive developments in societies, to meet the complicated needs of the modern society, people require a modern education. This is not likely to happen unless the educational system, as well as the learning environment, develops. This certainly justifies the application of new learning approaches. In this study, the researcher sought to test whether providing practical questions in problem-oriented class discussions results in developing students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics, recognizing their misunderstandings and improving their mathematics. Population of the studyincluded all female junior high school students in Iranshahr, among which50 students were selected as the research sample. Results revealed that the use of modeling has a significant effect on students’ achievement in math and increases interaction and interest between teacher and students.
