The 20 th century has encountered alterations in living methods and social relations and economic issues more than any other time in human history. The effort for industrialization and expanding of urbanization and a mechanized life which requires accepting modern life styles, has had a reverse effect on human health and has indicated other aspects in the matter of health that one of them is the health of the mind of the humans. Prevention from occurrence of such mental anomalies is also not possible without acknowledging the p resent status of the mind health of individuals of society, because the evaluation of such conditions would aid us in utilization of appropriate methods for elimination of the mental health intrusion factors and using the required tools. The social capital that means that the people have acquired resources and protections in social relations and bonds, has an exclusive importance and is considered as an axial principal. Regarding the importance of the matter, in the present study the relation between social capital and mental health amongst the citizens of Gorgan has been evaluated. The methodology used in this research is descriptive - analytic with utilization of researcher built questionnaire.
