چکیده :

The successions of the Qhaleh Dokhtar Formation are deposited in Central Iran sedimentary basin and are mainly composed of sandstone, shale and limestone. The age of these successions is determined as Late Jurrasic- Neocomian. In order to re-evaluation of the fossil content of these successions in the north of Qaen Township, a section has been collected for detail stratigraphic and paleontological studies. The investigated deposits are composed of sandstone, shale and limestone which are overlain by Lower Cretaceouse conglomerate and Orbitolina limestone as disconform and is underlain conformably by the Baghamshah Formation limestone. These strata are rich in micro and macrofauna. The age of this formation is assigned to Late Jurassic (Kimmeridgian-Tithonian) with the presence of Pseudocyclammina lituus next to the other taxa such as Actinoporella podolica, Lithocodium aggregatum, Tubiphytes sp. cf. T. obscurus, Cayeuxia sp., Milleporidium sp., Permocalculus sp., Everthycyclammina hedbergi, Freixialina planispiralis, Lenticulina sp., Siphovalvulina beydouni, Nautiloculina oolithica, Siphovalvulina sp. The importance of this taxon is described in detail from micropaleontology and paleoecology points of view. Keywords: Late Jurassic, Qhaleh Dokhtar Formation,
